Prasanta Ganguly (Male 16 years) Hello, readers I am Prasanta Ganguly from Madhyamgram, West Bengal. I was going with my friend on his bike and we met with an accident. Everything was tried but my eyes could not be saved due to perforating injury in my left eye. Slowly my eye shrinked and gave an ugly look to me. Though I was academically sound and accepted person many of my friends stopped talking to me. I felt my world has gone upside down from being accepted and appreciated, I suddenly became a person who was dejected by all. My known ones did not look at my face in the morning by saying – “If I see one eyed person in the morning, my day will go bad.” Some classmates were afraid of my ugly look. Few of my well wishers forced me to wear dark glasses but it affected my vision in better eye moreover dark glasses were a problem after the sunset. All these troubles continued along with my mental trauma of loss of one eye for 2 years. May be almighty God felt pity on me and I happened to reach Artificial Eye Co. where I got a customized artificial eye tailor made for me and Wao I could not believe I got back my previous look. I and my friends were very happy. My family was so happy that we thanked our Ocularist Dr S.Marda for the wonderful work she did. Recently I got the information that Artificial Eye Co. is going to launch its website. Hello everybody I am Nikhil Deb Barman (38yrs Male). I am a private tutor and I teach children. My wife met me when I was one eyed and she accepted me the way I was and we got married. I have a daughter, she is 10years old. She has been seeing me one eyed since her birth. I had never used an artificial eye. My friends suggested me many a times to go for a customized artificial eye but I never paid attention nor did I feel it necessary to wear an artificial eye. But one day somehow my family and friends could convince me to go for it and I along with my childhood friend Ramen went to Artificial Eye Co. It took them 3 sittings, after the eye was made I was given to see myself in a mirror and I could not just believe, it was me, a new and different me. A feeling of euphoria came over me and I smiled. I am Barnali Sarkar (Female, 23 years) from Krishangang. I had some eye infection when I was 20 years, I underwent treatment from renowned Ophthalmologists of Krishangang, Kolkata, even I went to renowed hospitals like Disha, Shankar Netralaya but no one could save my eye and I was not ready to accept that my eye will never recover. My father who is a business typhoon felt helpless and I could see him grieving in pain and agony. Our happy family life got badly disturbed. My father did not leave any stone unturned. He took me to every place where he was suggested to take me but all in vain. We came to know about artificial eye and assumed it to be some artificial eye by which I could see. She explained generously about my eye condition which they call socket condition. She also explained me the process of making Artificial Eye. We also got ready to try it out and in 2 days time my Artificial Eye was ready and I was amazed to see myself in the looking glass. My look made me gaga over myself and I was overwhelmed with happiness and contentment. I laughed and exclaimed OH! Am I so preety, I forgot that I am beautiful after the mishap. My father and mother bursted into tears similarly as they did when I lost my eye. With time we started accepting my disfigurement but the day they saw me in my natural look the hidden pain bursted out and I hugged my dad with a relief that I could finally look complete with hidden defect of mine. Thanks not once but thousand times for making me what I was. Thank you so much for being there when I had none.
